APRS

If you have an old cellphone, you can turn it into a APRS IGATE with a baofeng HT and APRSdroid. I put the them together and over night noticed that I received stations over 70 miles away.

I noticed in the past that there was no igates near my location. So I was looking into putting one up myself to help the Amateur Radio community.

The software I use on my old Nexus phone is APRSdroid. It does cost $5. It is well worth the money because it does a lot and works with many transceivers. So if you have some old equipment collecting dust. Then you can put them to use.
