About three years ago, I moved from Oklahoma to Texas. The move was a whole new experience for me, and I had to learn how to get around a totally foreign territory. You ay be thinking that i just moved from one state to another but to me it was like moving to another country. Though I have lived here for that amount of time, I still consider myself new to the area. Mainly for the reason that I am still learning my way around and discovering new places.
I have found some hidden places that most people traveling through here just do not are there. I love to find hole in wall kind of places to discover and try their menu. I do know people traveling tend to stick with the chain restaurants because they know what to expect verses trying a place that is unfamiliar to them. And that is a shame because there are lots of new places that are good and will make your travel more of an adventure.
Everyone travels to see new places and food selection should also be the same. Even though I live is the US, this country is different from one side to the other. Texas is different from one side to the other also.
No matter what your budget is anyone can travel and experience something new. Sometimes you just have to get out of your comfort zone. And you do not have to travel far to get this experience nor spend a lot of money in the process.
I traveled a bit during my years in the military. I also hate flying but I will fly to get to my destination. What I do like about flying is seeing and trying the food on the plane. Some meals are plain but sometimes you do get something interesting that you have not tried before. Traveling with the military did get me out of my comfort zone and took me to places that I thought I would never see in my life.
I decided to start a series of articles about the places that I have found in my area and share them with you. This series could help someone traveling through this area. Also I write on this blog to get better at writing.
